The Community Development Department is responsible for administering the planning functions for the Town of Mt. Crested Butte.
This includes processing land use applications for annexation, rezonings, design review, and special use permits for review by staff, and action by the town Planning Commission and Town Council and ensuring compliance with all town codes which relate to planning issues. Additional functions include creating long-range plans for development, transportation, and area plans; conducting studies and surveys related to future growth issues for the Town.
