Parks & Open Space

The town maintenance department maintains the public parks and recreational areas owned and operated by the town. These include Ted Scheske Park and all the amenities located within the park such as the pavilion, mountain garden, fitness trail, children's playground, and common areas. In addition, other public areas and gardens are also maintained by the department. These include summer base area gardens, roadside gardens, and the bike/pedestrian path which runs from the Mt. Crested Butte town sign to the town of Crested Butte.

2024 Parks Closed For The Season
The Town of Mt. Crested Butte would like to thank everyone for another wonderful 2024 summer season at Ted Scheske Town Park. As always, so many community members and visitors enjoyed our space—especially the new pickleball courts!

The Mt. Crested Butte Ted Scheske Town Park is closed for the season and will reopen in June 2025. Park equipment, benches, chairs, tennis and pickleball court items, and trash receptacles will be stored in the pavilion area and we ask that you do not move park equipment.

We again want to thank the community for a wonderful season and if you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with Parks Director, Addison Ives at aives@mtcb.colorado.gov.
