There has been a water main break around the 500 block of Gothic Rd., which will affect residents included on the map below. This repair will result in a temporary loss of service for an undetermined amount of time. The Mt. Crested Butte Water & Sanitation District will work diligently to complete this repair as soon as possible.
We ask that residents who are affected by this break follow the instructions below in preparation for the repair and for water being turned off:
- Use all necessary facilities and fill water containers for extended use in case the repair takes longer than 24 hours.
- When your water is shut off, please refrain from using water to prevent air from entering your plumbing.
- Using hot water when the water is shut off will drain your hot water tank or boiler which could introduce sediment into the in-house plumbing and/or cause appliance damage.
- After the repair, you may notice air in the line or cloudy water. Please flush thoroughly to return fresh water to your service line and in-house plumbing.
Due to the urgent nature of this repair, the Town of Mt. Crested Butte has extended construction work hours to allow for work outside of 7am to 7pm. Please expect traffic delays around the affected areas.
