The town of Mt. Crested Butte has over 13 miles of roadway and streets. Town Maintenance crews are responsible for maintaining all streets and roads, including anything that lies within the 60-foot right-of-way. This includes culverts, ditches, curbs, storm drains, road signs, trees, flowers, and weeds.
Maintenance on the roadways and streets includes everything from patching potholes, crack sealing, striping, and paving in the summer months to snow plowing and snow hauling during the winter season. The department also maintains sidewalks, pedestrian ways, and bike paths.
