Regular Mt. Crested Butte E-Bike Rebate Program

Non-Restricted Rebates:

Rebate Amount:
$500 to $600 per e-bike. The rebate amount depends on where the e-bike was purchased. One rebate per person.

  • If the e-bike is purchased from a Gunnison County retailer the applicant will earn an additional $50 rebate for a total of $550
  • If the e-bike is purchased from a Mt. Crested Butte retailer you will earn another $50 rebate for a total of $600
  • If the e-bike is purchased from a retailer outside of Gunnison County the rebate amount is $500

The rebate cannot exceed the cost of the e-bike.

Requirements:

  • Receipt of the e-bike purchased after May 7, 2024
  • Must request the rebate within 90 days of the date of purchase
  • Must submit a picture of the sticker on the e-bike showing the class, maximum watts, and maximum speed of the e-bike. If the sticker is not present on your e-bike you will not receive a rebate.
  • Full-suspension e-bikes are not allowed
  • The maximum retail price for the e-bike is $5,000.  Any e-bike that exceeds $5,000 will not qualify for the rebate
  • New Class 1, 2 or 3 e-bike. E-bike must be new to qualify for rebate; no used, reconditioned, or aftermarket bikes are eligible. Only e-bikes that meet the definition of a Class 1, 2, or 3 “electrical assisted bicycle” as defined at C.R.S. § 42-1-102 are eligible. An e-bike which does not have affixed to its frame the manufacturer’s label required by C.R.S. § 42-4-221 is not rebate eligible. An applicant must provide evidence of a purchased e-bike’s rebate eligibility.

Mt. Crested Butte Residence Requirements:
This rebate program is for Mt. Crested Butte Residents. You must provide one of the following:

  • Colorado Driver’s License with a Mt. Crested Butte address
  • Mt. Crested Butte voter registration
  • Current lease for a Mt. Crested Butte residence
  • Own real residential property in Mt. Crested Butte

If the person applying is under 18 and cannot provide one of the above the applicant must apply in person with their parent or guardian who can provide one of the above.

Town of Mt. Crested Butte Employees are eligible for this rebate.

Please upload three documents:
1. Receipt of purchase for your e-bike
2. Documentation of residency (copy of driver's license, copy of long-term lease, or copy of deed)
3. Picture of your e-bike including the required sticker on the e-bike.  The sticker must show the Class, Max Watts, and Max Speed of the E-bike. This sticker is required on all bikes sold in Colorado per C.R.S. 42-4-221. If you do not have a sticker on your e-bike then it is not eligible for a rebate.
