The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is working on the following road projects this summer:
2024 HUNTER HILL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Town of Mt. Crested Butte has contracted with Dietrich to improve drainage and paving of 1,500 feet of Hunter Hill Road. Traffic control and barricades will be provided, to establish a one-way traffic lane during construction and detour pedestrian users. Efforts will be taken to minimize construction impacts and to minimize dust.
Construction Schedule:
- August 12-15: Site mobilization and demolition of sidewalk pavement
- August 15-15: Excavation to install new drainage culverts
- August 19-20: Mill (remove) existing pavement surface | Restore non-paved roadway to full access
- Early September: Pave roadway (dates dependent upon asphalt delivery)
- September 13: Expected project completion
2024 SNOWMASS ROAD PROJECT
Starting Friday, August 16, Snowmass Road will be cleaned by A-One Chipseal to prepare the road for the Chipseal project. Cleaning will occur on Friday and Saturday, and the chip seal work will occur the week of Monday, August 19. It will take at least a week to complete this work. A-One Chipseal is providing traffic control.
