MTCB Annual Town Clean Up
Help us keep the town of Mt. Crested Butte looking beautiful by picking up trash in the neighborhood!
WHEN: Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 10 am to 1 pm
WHERE: Meet at Matterhorn Parking Lot (corner of Treasury & Gothic) to check in or register, pick up your trash bag, and coordinate areas for cleaning. As a thank you, gift cards and free lunch will be provided to all volunteers!
TIME: 10 am to 1 pm (free lunch provided at Noon)
BRING: Yourself, a friend, gloves & water
Dumpsters will be available for Mt. Crested Butte residents at the Matterhorn parking lot (corner of Treasury and Gothic) from 10 am–1 pm. Representatives from St. Mary’s and Six Points will be on-site accepting certain donations. If you need to get rid of large items, please email Rebecca Gagne at Rgagne@mtcb.colorado.gov, to arrange for curbside pickup. Curbside pick-up items must be placed out by 8 am on clean-up day.
Green Waste and E-Cycling (new this year)
Green Waste and E-Cycling by Waste Management will be available at the Matterhorn Parking lot from 10 am to 1 pm.
- Green waste drop-off is free and includes: leaves, glass clippings, twigs, and branches. Leaves and grass clippings MUST be kept separate from twigs and branches when dropping off.
- E-cycling will cost $1 per pound and can be paid for by cash or credit card (fees included for all credit card payments). Examples of items that will be accepted include: TVs, computer monitors, speakers, desktop printers/copiers, stereos, small kitchen appliances, cellphones, mice, keyboards, cords/cables/Christmas lights (all wire items must be placed in a cardboard box).
- Items we can not accept for e-cycling include appliances with refrigeration components, washers, dryers, and satellite dishes
We can not accept the following items in the dumpsters: concrete, construction material, railroad ties, paint or paint thinners, used motor oil, mattresses, tires, electronics, computers/TVs, appliances, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, and microwaves.
The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is hopeful to offer even more options for recycling including Oil & Paint Recycling but is still in the process of confirming these services. Please check back leading up to the event date!
